A labiaplasty, also referred to as a labia rejuvenation, is a surgical technique that board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. Michael Suzman employs in order to resize and reshape the labia. Many women seek this procedure in an effort to restore their vaginal appearance after child birth, weight loss, or other situations, such as birth defects, that may cause deformities. This can be a successful procedure that helps to restore women's confidence and relieve their discomfort caused by their deformed or impaired labia. Dr. Suzman is glad to offer a specialized treatment plan during a private and discreet consultation at WESTMED Group's Westchester County, NY or Greenwich, CT office.

Dr Suzman, Heather, and the rest of the staff were extremely caring and assured me everything was going to be ok. Everything wasn’t just ok it was amazing! My reduction was everything I wanted and more and I was able to recover quickly and enjoy the rest of my summer! I highly recommend Dr Suzman for he has forever changed my life for the better. "Young 50's Woman for TT, Lipo and Facial Fat Transfer - Harrison, NY - Dr Suzman is a true professional and talented surgeon, from the beginning was honest what I should expect, I even got some hand holding when needed with all my questions and concerns. I highly recommend and am thrilled with my results. Also, the outpatient facility staff was incredible, caring and on top of their game, I felt very cared for by the Dr, Heather, the anesthiologist and the staff at surgery center.Unfortunately, the one turn off was the payment staff miscommunicated with me regarding Care Credit options and failed to assist when i realized what she signed me up for. I did not care for the poor follow up and this has tainted my view of my experience. Otherwise 5 STARS ."- T. / RealSelf / Feb 12, 2018

"Doctor Suzman closed after my Mohs surgery. The surgery was in a sensitive area, on my nostril. Dr. Suzman and his team did a great job of fixing the wound and after only 1 month, it's hardly noticable. Amazing. I'm very happy to say the least."- D.K. / Google / Jan 14, 2018
"I researched my surgery and doctors for years. Once I consulted with Dr Suzman, I made my decision the same day to move ahead with the procedure. Dr Suzman and his team are incredibly amazing. If you are self-conscious about the way your vaginal area appears, meaning, you have excess skin and tissue that creates a bulge or hangs, then a labiaplasty may be a consideration for you. It is recommended that women wait to have this surgery until after their final pregnancy. In addition, it is important to maintain a healthy weight, as a significant weight gain could compromise the results of the surgical outcome.
What to Expect
While labiaplasty can be performed by both an OB/GYN or a plastic surgeon, it has become commonplace for this abnormal skin deformity to be addressed by a cosmetic surgeon so that scarring can be kept to a minimum, and the overall contour and aesthetic appearance optimized. During the procedure, excess skin is removed, and the shape of the labia are reduced and reshaped. A common technique is to use the "V" approach, which removes the excess skin into a natural V shape. Surgical tools are used to reshape the inner folds of the labia so they no longer protrude. It is important to find an experienced labia rejuvenation surgeon who understands that this procedure is both for aesthetics and function. A qualified surgeon will not only address the appearance, but will also preserve the feeling, nerves, and sensitivity of the labia with minimal scarring.
Labiaplasty is an outpatient procedure and is performed under anesthesia. After surgery, women should avoid strenuous activities, such as exercise, for about 4 – 6 weeks. In addition, tampon usages, sexual intercourse, and tight clothing should be avoided as well so that the area can properly heal. Scarring following labiaplasty is almost completely unnoticeable. This procedure results in a vaginal appearance that is healthy, natural, and pleasing. In addition, symptoms such as chronic irritations, sexual discomfort, etc. will be significantly reduced.
