This patient felt that her nose did not fit the natural features of her face. In particular, she wanted the tip to be more slender, the bump straighter and the tip elevated a small amount. Dr. Suzman performed an open rhinoplasty technique to reduce the bump, narrow the tip and maintain the breathing passages with septoplasty. The patient healed very well and feels she has a great result that has positively impacted her.
How much to change the tip or elevate it depends on patient preference. This patient desired the shape of the tip to be more upright and we viewed a computer simulation image prior to surgeryto help set expectations.
