Saline Breast Implants

Before and After

Before and After

Saline vs Silicone Implants

  • The most important part of choosing an implant is patient t preference, as both saline and gel filled impants have essentially equal patient satisfaction .
  • Saline offers an advanage of no need for radiology screening MRI or ultrasound to detect rutpure, and  they can last forever if they do not deflate over time. This makes them the preferred choice for many patients.
  • Silicone gel impants are abit  softer and look jsut as great, but a rupture in not detectable,  so paitnets should get an ultrasound or MRI after 7 yeasrs or so and then every couple yeaers.
  • Silicone gel implants  may not ripple as  much and look and feel more natural is some patients with thinner breast skin adn tissue.
  • Most gel implants should be replaced or removed after 12-15 years.
  • Dr. Suzman  has perfomred thousands of breast procedures over the years, and helps each patient decide the best implant sie adn style for their well -being.
  • In general saline implants work well for older patients who may wish to avoid more surgery over time, and gels are best for younger women who do mind the need for additional plastic srugery procedures in 10-20 years.
