Radiesse is a facial filler that is formed from micro-spheres of calcium hydroxylapatite. The substance is a water-based gel that is injected into the patient's facial skin to help address their wrinkles and lines, particularly around the mouth area. Dr. Michael Suzman is a board-certified plastic surgeon at Summit Group in Westchester County, NY who offers Radiesse as a rejuvenating treatment for patients who are in need of wrinkle reduction. Typically the solution works best on the nasolabial folds (the creases referred to as "smiles lines") and marionette lines. Radiesse can also be used to treat volume loss in the face that has an aging effect. Results can last for several months depending on each patient's reaction and needs, helping to restore their youthful appearance.

What to Expect
The doctor will evaluate your skin and consider the depth of your wrinkles on the middle and lower part of your face to estimate the number of syringes needed to complete the treatment. After Radiesse is injected, it will soften the wrinkles and folds to make them naturally smooth. Many of our patients, who use Radiesse, love their results so much, that they ask to be put on the schedule in advance for treatments every 9-12 months.
Other Considerations
You will usually see immediate results from Radiesse once injected into the desired area. Downtime and discomfort with Radiesse treatments are usually minimal. Some patients may develop bruises or swelling that will last up to 10 days, but it is usually easy to cover up with makeup.
