Contact UsWhat is the HALO Laser?
HALO by Sciton is a cutting-edge hybrid fractional laser that safely and effectively rejuvenates the skin by treating both the surface and deeper layers at the same time. It uniquely combines ablative (resurfacing) and non-ablative (gentler, deeper-heating) wavelengths in one treatment, allowing us to customize your results while minimizing downtime.
This advanced technology makes HALO an excellent option for a wide range of skin types and concerns, including:
- Sun damage and sunspots
- Fine lines and wrinkles
- Dull or uneven skin tone
- Rough or uneven skin texture
- Enlarged pores
- Early signs of aging
The result is a noticeable improvement in your skin’s clarity, smoothness, and overall glow—often called the coveted “HALO glow.”
How HALO Works
HALO delivers two types of laser energy in a single session:
- Ablative wavelength gently removes tiny channels of damaged skin at the surface, prompting your body to create fresh, healthy new skin.
- Non-ablative wavelength heats deeper layers of the skin to stimulate new collagen and elastin, improving firmness, fine lines, and overall texture over time.
By treating both layers in one treatment, HALO offers powerful results that previously required more downtime with traditional lasers.
Benefits of HALO Laser Treatment
Patients choose HALO because it offers an effective balance of results and recovery:
- Noticeable improvement in tone, texture, and clarity
- Reduction in sunspots, age spots, and discoloration
- Smoother appearance of fine lines and wrinkles
- More refined pores and softer skin texture
- Fresh, luminous “HALO glow” to the skin
- Customizable treatments for different skin types and lifestyles
- Minimal downtime compared to traditional fully ablative lasers
What Areas Can HALO Treat?
HALO is versatile and can be used on multiple areas, including:
- Face
- Neck
- Chest (décolletage)
- Hands
- Arms and other areas with sun damage
Your provider will recommend a personalized plan based on your skin type and goals.
What to Expect During Treatment
- Consultation: We begin with a thorough skin evaluation and discuss your concerns and goals.
- Preparation: A topical numbing cream is applied for comfort.
- Treatment: The HALO handpiece is guided over the treatment area. You may feel warmth or a prickling sensation, but most patients find the procedure very tolerable.
- Post-Treatment: Your skin will feel warm and look pink or slightly swollen, similar to a sunburn.
Most treatments take 30–60 minutes, depending on the size of the area.
Recovery & Results
-
One of the biggest advantages of HALO is the minimal downtime compared to traditional laser resurfacing.
- First 24–48 hours: Redness and warmth, similar to a sunburn.
- Days 2–5: The skin may feel dry or rough as microscopic treatment zones heal and slough off (often called “MENDS”).
- Within 1 week: Skin looks brighter, clearer, and more even.
- Over the next 2–3 months: Collagen remodeling continues, and you’ll notice ongoing improvement in texture, firmness, and fine lines.
Many patients are comfortable returning to normal activities within a few days, depending on the intensity of the treatment.
